9::20 ~ sultana scones

twenty treats

sultana scones

PROJECT PROGRESS: 9/20 (somehow I skipped straight from 8 to 10!)

OCCASSION: It was Wednesday.

BRIEF & RATIONALE: Part of the “we have no eggs” bake-up.

SOURCE: That old standby “The Essential Baking Cookbook” (I bought this my first year of working in a lunchroom book club, and it has been one of the best value purchases!)

EASE OF MAKING: 8/10

CHILD FRIENDLY? not really, unless you want heavy scones. They did help sift the flour though/

REALITY V COOKBOOK: 9.5/10

TASTE: 7/10 – I’m not a sultana person, but they were good when I picked out the sultanas.

FINAL VERDICT: Yeah. We like scones. Mmmm, hot scones with butter….

    I like mine without squishy fruit too! But the best scones are my pumpkin ones!

      I looooove pumpkin scones! We also had some really nice ginger ones at the ginger factory at Buderim once.

    Urgh. Hate sultanas. Even if they are picked out.

      Glad I’m not alone! It was more a case of my craving for scone outweighing my distaste for sultanas!
