Toddler Craft

Is so much fun! Last week, we made a cash register: This was a huge hit, and now lives in the bottom drawer of our kitchen for easy access. It’s not really visible in the photo, but on the right hand side I have taped a ruler, as in the toddler’s world, the only way of paying for things is with a card! LOL, I

Thought of the day

From Sunrise this morning, it has really struck a chord. Have you danced today? Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain

Altered notebook.

I was hoping to get some more sewing done yesterday, but my husband was home sick, and he went down for a nap at the same time our son did. Unfortunately for my, our bedroom is right next to my studio (as in, there is a door between the two), so I didn’t want to make too much noise, lest I rouse the slumbering giant.

6 blocks down!

Well, I’ve had a productive weekend. We’ve made our son a sandpit, and I finally got around to cleaning my office out & turning it into (mainly) my studio. And with my own creative space, inspiration has hit, hard. Expect to see lots of new stuff in the next few weeks!   My Jacob’s Ladder quilt is progressing nicely, I have 6 blocks completed, out

Laughs, Life & Creativity

Something doing the rounds at the minute that gave me a laugh:   63 As a 1930s wife, I am Superior Take the test! How they came up with that I’ll never know!! ~~~ I’ve also had a chance to do some scrapping!     ~~~ Another project I have in my mind is an abstract painting, possibly with a bit of a collage happening

Sick Bubba…

Poor Little Bear has been sick the last few days, so no sewing or scrapping to be shown at the minute. I did, however, get a chance to do some baking today. Very simple, but oh so yummy! I love these bikkies, they are made from my great-grandmother’s recipe, and remind me of a time when I wasn’t so grown-up, or so busy. Just the

Stage Two!

24 hours on, and the fabric is cut!   One’s missing you say? After making up a mock-block to test the colour scheme, I wasn’t happy with the cream & blue fabric. The other fabrics are so rich that it looks stark, and very jarring when added into the block. So I’ll put that fabric away for another project, and head back down to the

Jacob’s Ladder Quilt – The Fabrics

I’ve been shopping! Aren’t they yummy?!! The dark blue will be one triangle, and I am trying to decide whether to use the yellow, or the cream & blue for the other triangle. I’m about to cut the peices for one block, and see what they look like made up, then decide!   ~~~   On the curtain front, they are completed, and DH has

Mmmm…muffins

I had a few very ripe bananas in my fridge, so decided to whip up a batch of muffins. Super easy to make, and I didn’t have to chuck the bananas (well, except for half of one that was way too far gone!) Also on the to-bake list is some biscuits if I get a chance, but for now, curtain duty calls! Hopefully I’ll be

The Bonus Quilt

Why the bonus quilt? I was rifling through my mum’s scrap stash, looking for fabrics I could use for an applique of Maisy Mouse for a library bag I was making for my toddler, who is madly in love with “Maise, Mummy!”. I came across 18 completed, trimmed, ready-to-be-joined blocks from a “crazy log cabin” class my sister and I did many years ago, more
