totally pinspired

totallypinspired

I’ve been doing a spring clean of my Pinterest boards lately. It’s been on my to-do list for ages, and after spending far too long one day scrounging for something I KNEW I’d pinned, it was time. Helping the fact along was I had a spare hour or so while my mum watched children one to three, and I fed Beetle Baby. The perfect opportunity to get stuck in – or at least make a start. I’ve deleted inactive boards, I’ve renamed some that I thought were witty but became increasingly ambiguous and thus a mish mash of somewhat-vaguely-sort-of-connected pins. I’ve also added prefixes to a lot of boards, so when I’m scrolling through the list to pin something, all the similar boards are grouped together – so all my house related boards are together on the list, and my small-people boards are together, all my craft boards, and so on.

But sifting through my boards meant I came across a trove of pins that I’d forgotten about. Cool stuff, that I really wanted to try. Plus the midnight feeds when Facebook and Twitter are all but silent brings the perfect opportunity to trawl the wider Pinterest community, rather than dashing in and checking those I follow and dashing out again. So I have ideas and projects coming out my ears!

Which got me thinking. Time to pin less and do more… or at least, if not pin less, do SOMETHING with all these pins. For some accountability, I invited Car, Alley Cat and AJ along for the ride, and thus the “Totally Pinspired pin-busting challenge” was born. For September, we are aiming low – just one project. That’s all. Big or small, doesn’t matter, as long as it’s something that we’ve pinned. Each month after that, we’ll aim for two projects a month. Would you like to join us? Feel free to use the button below, and leave a comment to let us know where to find you.

{and in the spirit of Pin-busting}, this counts as project number one – I pinned the “how to make a chalkboard effect in photoshop” ages ago! You can find the tutorial here}

      I know the feeling – I have four small people, the youngest being 13 days. That’s why we kept the number low, and absolutely anything counts – even just a printable. But I completely understand your reluctance, it’s an ongoing thing so feel free to join in when you feel on top of everything xx

    Count me in! I stalk the crafting/home decor/geekery things on Pinterest and never do a thing with them. Wasn’t sure what you meant by where to find me, but this links to my blog (steals button for that) I’d love to “stalk” you on Pinterest…send me a link?

      Link to Pinterest coming soon! And yep, all I meant was a link to your blog so I can swing by and check out your projects. Can’t wait to see what you create! 🙂

        I would love to join as well! Pinning on boards can be so addictive, but getting around to the projects is something else entirely. Thanks for thinking this up! 🙂
