wordless wednesday :: the virtual tour.

After posting my costume storage rack I built last week, I had several requests for a virtual tour of my newly madeover toyroom. I am pleased to report that, for the most part, the new shelves and hanging space are working – I needed to only pick up three toys and one book for these photos – not bad for a room dedicated to three children, five and under! Especially when we had three extras on two seperate days this week. Anyway, WORDLESS Wednesday. Yes, right. On with the tour!

Looking in from the hall (the east facing window is DELICIOUS on winter mornings, look at that light flooding in) – new flatpack shelves straight ahead, Calamity Bolt hobby horses in the corner, costume rack on the right:

View to the left of the door – builtin cupboards, book shelves, chalkboard etc etc:

A peek inside the builtins – my longsuffering clever husband built these shelves to hold the tubs sideways. There are four in total – two per door.

And, in a nutshell, that’s the toyroom. It’s far from perfect, but it works for us. There is not system to how things go on the shelf – as long as it’s off the floor, I’m not worried!!

Love it! Looks 200% better than my childrens toy area at the moment. And I really really want to get the kids a Calamity Bolt horse! They are just so gorgeous.

Thanks everyone! It’s been a BIG effort to get to this stage! @Yvette – I wanted an IKEA one, but our nearest IKEA is 5 hours away, so saving my sanity won out over pretty IKEA goodness!

Hi! I'm Rachel. I love making things & experimenting with new techinques & mediums. I am addicted to pretty paper, and make & sell letterpress stationery. Being creative is my sanity break from the rush of life as a wife, and a mother of four. I do a lot of my creating without shoes. This is the story of where my bare feet & creative heart take me.
