inchie challenge 2025 complete!
A quick challenge is a good challenge, if one was to borrow a phrase. I find longer, more involved challenges and projects I tend to struggle with as the novelty wears off. This year, I started the 12-prompt Inchie challenge three days late, and yet managed to finish right on time. Clearly, it was just the right kind of project I needed as a warm up to 100 Days!

Some of the challenges I found easy to work with, some of them were trickier and took me a bit to chew over. Some have only a passing resemblance to the prompt, but the prompt got me making and isn’t that the point of something like this?
The longest part of the process, to be honest, was deciding what to do with the finished squares. Originally, I was planning on making a simple accordion book, and then I remembered – in my last ever Studio Calico order, from their craft clearance sale, I bought a set of attacher dies, thinking they would be handy to add stuff to my project life albums. They also, I decided, would be a great way to join these tiny squares and turn them into a mini-book – the finished book is in the video below.
Like any project, I love some day’s efforts more than others. It was fun to stretch myself and try and find a twist on my preferred style of art making that also worked with the teeny tiny scale. And of course, who doesn’t love the satisfaction of a completed project? Journal one for 2025 ticked off!
Today has been a busy kind of boring day – Fridays are life admin days, so I’ve been doing paperwork and cleaning the house and keeping the kids on task as they clean their rooms. The laundry hamper is empty, the fridge is stocked, the floors are mopped, and the craft room is clean ready for a weekend full of making. One more trip to town for errands and then I’m calling the weekend marathon open for business – bonus points if the promised rain comes through on Sunday.
For my SE Qld & NE NSW mates – stay safe this weekend! I’ll be thinking of you and watching for updates, hopefully Alfred goes easy on you.
