on the cards :: August

To say the last three months have been busy is an understatement! My June update got missed because I was busy prepping for our trip and doing all the everything that comes with end of financial year. July fell behind thanks to two weeks away, four days of caring for family and two days running the children all over the region for appointments. August was filled with scout camp, another trip away, two weeks of illness, and birthday season prep.

In among all that, my cards dropped by the wayside, and I haven’t shared an update since May. I did manage to get June caught up somewhere in the middle, and even found time to film a flip through of what my album looks like half way through the project.

I’ve finally managed to catch up though, even if half of the last month were just simple 3×4″ photos. Having been unwell or nursing sick children for two solid weeks meant I needed to go with the easiest option. Is it ideal? Not really. Is it done and I can keep rolling? Absolutely. With only four months left to go, I would have been really frustrated at myself if I let it go now.

September is always a busy month, but I’m planning to collect lots of ephemera and take lots of photos, and aim for a once a week catch up session to keep on top of it. It’s a down hill run now so it should be easyish to keep the momentum going? That’s the theory anyway.

Today is all about prepping for some of that busyness. This afternoon, Bear and I jump in the car after work for the long haul to Sydney, so he can poke around his uni and choose a residential college for him to live in next year. I want to try and work on his quilt as well before then, and get the house cleaned a bit. My spring cleaning list isn’t getting any shorter, and my craft room looks like a bomb has hit it. If I can maybe sneak in a bit of creative time, that would be nice, but I won’t hold my breath. Happy Friday friends, what are you making this weekend?
