WIP Wednesday :: Digital Papers
Somewhere, between building and moving and mumming and all the everything that fills everyday life, the last two months have disappeared, and the silly season is approaching with a terrifying rapidity. Last year, our advent shenanigans were rudely interrupted by the coming of the plague (twice!), and I think this year, I’m in full overcompensation mode, collecting challenges and projects every time I open instagram.
At the top of the list, is my annual memory keeping tradition – December Daily. I’ve completed it in many formats over the years, and something I used to do, was create my own digital papers as a base for my albums. Last year, I used my gel plate to create physical papers. This year, I’m back to making digital papers, this time on my iPad in procreate for the first time. Keeping them reasonably simple, with a tight colour palette and aiming for a mixed media, open ended vibe, I’ve just about got my files for this year done. So close to done, in fact, I was able to get the first run of test prints sent off and picked up yesterday.
I’m so thrilled with how they have come up, and am hoping to have the last files finished today and the whole set off to print over the weekend. With a week in Sydney coming up the first week of December, I’m kicking off Kid Advent on Monday, along with a couple of other challenges that will need the full four weeks. I’m thinking December Daily might be worth starting a bit early this year too, to capture the fun of the season. It’s only four extra days, and really – what’s advent without a little craziness!
