blogtober day 5 // three favourite craft tools

As I slowly start collecting my various tools and gadgets from their widespread little hideyholes, I’m finding myself prioritising what comes out in what order. It can be a bit tricky – it’s a truth universally acknowledged my love language is gadgets. I love fun toys that make my life and crafting more pleasant, and trying to narrow down to the most important to collect first has had the crafty part of my brain running overtime for days!

Here’s my current top three favourite crafty toys that I can’t set up my room without!

1 // iPad + Apple Pencil + Procreate

This combo is one of my most used gadgets! Whether I’m creating digital art, or practicing lettering, or designing custom labels and shapes for cutting on my cricut, or even doing some bible journaling and sermon notes, I use my iPad so much more than I expected. I was using a 7th gen, but recently the kids iPad died, so they took my old one and I upgraded to the 9th gen, with a 1st get pencil

2 // Cricut Maker

How do I love my Cricut? Let me count the ways. I treated myself to a Maker as my Christmas present in 2020, a little “well done self” award for surviving a year in the cabin, along with everything else that 2020 was. I use it for gift making, card making, stencils, labels, and elements for journaling.

3 // Nurge adjustable embroidery stand

A little splurge, thanks to a Round Number Birthday and some gifted cash, the stand is a total game change for my stitching speed and comfort. I have a new cross stitch to start this week, on black 32 count linen. The only way I will survive with my rather dodgy eyesight intact is courtesy of this stand and a light underneath it!

What toys are you loving this week that I should add to my “Dear Santa I’ve been so good this year” list?
