on the trolley :: August

I had grand intentions, as I always do, to have my trolley reset and photographed, ready to blog from the passenger seat as we trundled around outback Qld. Instead, I was hustling to the finish line, as I always do, to have the bags packed and the house clean and the washing basket empty, and my poor neglected trolley had to just carry on it’s June load like it wasn’t heartbroken to be left behind, ignored in favour of my travel backpack.

Then we came home and I just pottered away at my spinning, instead of resetting the trolley, and setting up new projects. Then came the first of the month and once again I was away from home, and once again I’d planned to have the photos ready, and once again I’d failed. Home for a night, unpack, repack, off again. Still no reset, still no photos.

And so that is how I find myself here, closer to the middle of the month than the beginning, finally having reset my trolley and sharing my plans for what remains of August.

TOP LEVEL: Trying to keep my July book momentum going, with my mother’s day books, kindle, and prepping for spring with a flower reference book ready to start planning out some gardens. On this level I also have my writing book and my ipad

MIDDLE LEVEL: Our games for the week – Yahtzee, Dragonwood & Dodge Dice, along with my current cross stitch, an almost finished sock snake, and a project bag with yarn to swatch a cardigan. I also have my journal basket on this shelf with my commonplace book, sketch book, watercolours and some basic journal supplies to motivate me to pick away at some ideas.

BOTTOM LEVEL: My mandala blanket. I ordered the next lot of yarn I need today, so it likely won’t be here by the end of the month, but equally I don’t want it being put away and forgotten about, so bottom of the trolley it is.

Over in the craft room, there hasn’t been a huge change on the inspo board, aside from the addition of our dinosaur pass! It is there to remind me of my main focus – holiday documenting. I haven’t even sent photos off to print yet, so that’s job number one this month.

Print the photos & start scrapbooking them is a big goal for this month. Get quiltmas basted, definitely. Number three might be get the sock snake off the needles and onto the tootsies. In reality though, whatever I get done, I get done. As long as I pick away at something each day, I will call it a win.

What are you making this month?
