on the trolley :: January
It was pretty much the middle of the month before I got around to clearing out my trolley and getting it set up for the month – or what was left of it anyway. I contemplated leaving it, but it was a total mess; overloaded, full of Christmas projects I was ready to move on from. I wanted to clear them all away, and along with them, clear my head. A new year, and a new start was calling, and I couldn’t properly shift into the new without clearing out the old.
And so, here we are – the first trolley of 2025! Let’s dive in!

Top layer: yarn leftover from Christmas that I won’t get to knitting with, that I’ve decided to reskein and put back in the stash until this coming christmas, and my niddy noddy to do that. Also on the top level is a pile of the fabrics I used for Bear’s quilt so they are in easy reach when it comes time to piece the binding, and the Perle cottons I’ve got to hand quilt it. I’ve also added my drop spindle and some fibre from the workshop I went to on Friday, to keep spinning it.
Middle: the dumping ground with my film camera, knitting bag, and a stack of books – writing, creative planner, iPad, kindle, two novels, sketchbook exercise book
Bottom: my quiltmas quilt, all I need to do trim and stitch down the binding so hopefully we’ll get a cool couple of days and I can get it done – I’d love to use it for my show entry this year as all my other quilts have been presents that have already been given away!
Honourable mention: my Christmas cross stitch that is still in progress and mostly lives on the couch as I try and power through and make a decision on if I finish or if I get it done this year.
I am feeling a weird combo of inspired and bored, so I’m hoping a full reset will get me back in the swing of things! What are you making this month?
