on the trolley :: march

When I chose to do a depth+width year, I had a couple of specific projects in mind, and yet, here we are, kicking off the third month – the last month of the first quarter – and I haven’t touched any of the ideas I started with. February was a month bristling with inspiration and nudges, and in the spirit of letting the mojo lead me out of a rut, I’m excited to focus on watercolours this month.

As mentioned in my February wrap, I have a couple of different projects on the hop to keep me in the flow, and hopefully grow my skills and confidence in watercolouring. I’m welcoming March and all the promise it brings; new beginning, new inspirations, new trolley set up.

Top shelf: dvd player** for my laptop, commonplace book, hand cream, 35mm lens, spare notebook, spare lens caps, bookmarks, a couple of secret squirrel items needing a home that isn’t so safe I’ll forget about them, lid to keep it all visually tidy and give me extra work space

Middle shelf: this month’s non-fiction book**, iPad, last month’s non-fiction book**, current paper novel**, DVD** to return to container and swap for something else, kindle**, travelling journal, current grab-and-go sock project, film camera, main camera

Bottom shelf: empty photo album ready for 2023 archiving, morning basket containing junk journal, punch** & tape runner, A7 watercolour journal, Sakura watercolour set, brushes, sketch book, reference image

I’m so excited to dive in!

Today, I’m all systems go ahead of a busy weekend. I’ve snuck in a quick watercolour sesh, and powered through some admin. We’re about to hit the school table, and I’m planning on using whatever downtime I can sneak, to label some photo albums with some vinyl I cut during yesterday’s school work. There’s photos to edit from a photo walk, and a million trips to town in my very near future. I’m already behind on Project Life, so hopefully I can find half hour to make progress on that. Boy2 is starting to feel a bit better after his lurgy, so I’ve helped him make a uni catch up list. I’ve been battling with my new newsletter set up and I’m going mad, which is a fair sign to log off the laptop and go touch grass. Maybe pick some flowers to go in my great-nanna’s vase. The list is long and the hours are rapidly shortening, so time to dive in. Let’s do this!
