soap opera {blogmas day 18}
It’s been a while since I’ve been to a class to learn something new, so when a local venue advertised a soap-making workshop, I signed up as a little christmas treaty to myself.
Saturday ended up being a super busy day, and the workshop ended up being sandwiched between Santa photos in the morning, and carols in the evening. Regardless, I was pleased I booked in; after the last few weeks, taking an hour or two to myself to do something crafty away from the house and my ever ballooning to-do list.

How cute did they turn out! I experimented with a few options – a marbled look, layers, colour mixing, glitter here and there. I think my house is my favourite of the lot.
I’m not likely to take up soap making as a hobby, but it was fun to play with something new. Most importantly, it got me out of the house and out of my head, and it turned out to be a very social afternoon; I knew six of the ten people at our table, and had some nice conversation with the person on my left. I came home, filmed a tutorial for vlogmas + make it merry, and then back out the door for carols with knitting in hand.
Is it even Christmas if we aren’t packing every second with festive fun and more projects than one manic maker can work on?
