November, the in-between month where I am on one hand glad to be done with Blogtober…while simultaneously gearing up for advent blogalong. We’re working hard on wrapping up the school year, and sweltering through the first heatwave of the season. It’s a weird mix of busy and calm, this in-between month.

Of note this month: our big boy performed in his final local theatre production before he moves to Sydney. We’ve been over to the smaller regional city three times, the main centre once, and the neighbouring town once. Boy2 has been working a heap, and we’re currently in the midst of that worst of first world problems – one of our three cars is at the smash repairs (shout out to the kamikaze kangaroo) and I’m back to MumUber duties. We splashed out on a new Christmas tree, better suited to the proportions of our new living room, and set it up last weekend. Early, but it was then or mid December, to get everyone at home on a weekend!

It’s so weird that you celebrate Christmas in summer to me, I mean I understand that you live veeery far away and all and I know the seasons are oposite but still, it is so weird! Haha. And it must be weird for you as well seeing that (all) most generic cards and movies is filled with the December snow.
Love that giraffe, so cool!
Take care.
It is so hard as a southern hemisphere crafter to find festive supplies that aren’t full of fire places and mittens and hot chocolate!! For us, the cold isn’t festive at all. Last year it didn’t get hot until the week before Christmas and it was so hard to get in the spirit of the season because it didn’t feel like Christmas!
Christmas for us is a steaming hot day but having a full roast lunch anyway. Watching the storms roll in to break the heat. Cricket on the back lawn and jumping in the pool with an inflatable flamingo. It’s definitely a very different experience to your side of the world!
Oh my, jumping into the pool… it sounds divine. Don’t tease like that.
haha well I won’t tell you we bought a projector and outdoor screen this year so we can watch Christmas movies from the pool!
