Sunday snippets :: blogtober day 19

Scenes from the week:
//the cat was unimpressed I had the audacity to use my own desk and she sat on the scraps basket in protest
//Pips might be my favourite new NYT game even if it does drive me crazy
//today was market day for scouts and I rate the roast rolls
//Beetle is currently obsessed with V8 Supercars on the PS2 (that’s not a typo. We bought it Christmas 2002 and it’s still kicking. Also Wrath of Cortex remains the superior Crash Bandicoot game)
//Beetle is also learning to crochet
//don’t all good craft projects require a Bunnings run?
//The scout craft cupboard and I met on the battlefield and I slayed that dragon like the cricut-label-obsessed warrior I am
//using the 3am wakies to track the stars instead of scrolling Threads
//just when my mojo returns I find myself cat-blocked
CURRENTLY
Watching// RDFS on Wednesday nights semi-live with Car via 7plus streaming. Tandem watching is something we started during the pandemic lockdowns and it’s turned into one of my favourite long-distance-friend activities. Thanks to DLS, I have to wait for the replay to drop at 8.30, which means we get a bit out of sync, but I think we’ve worked out the kinks. Also RFDS is top-notch Aussie drama, I highly recommend it (and watching live with ads is kind of fun in a 90s nostalgia way, even if my kids don’t quite understand why I can’t just hit play and have to wait for the scheduled start time).
Reading// So much on Kindle Unlimited! This week has seen me add EIGHT to my tally – mostly romance, plus the two books that were this month’s Barefoot Bookclub pick. (Current tally – 15 for October, 70 for 2025)
Listening// to the neighbours cattle bellowing down in the valley. I have a sneaking suspicion they are being mustered ready to head to the sale yards.
Making// progress on a collage. Finally. And loving it.
Feeling// a rush of spring inspiration. Life is getting busy and because my stupid lizard brain works backwards, now I have less free time I am squeezing more into those stolen slices. Because of course I am.
Planning// a little weekend getaway with the fam to rest and refresh before the end of year madness descends (and maybe even fly our big boy in to join us. I miss him and holidays are so far away!)
Loving// FABS link round-up on the Wallflower Cordial substack by Pip Lincolne (who you may recognise as the blogger behind Meet Me At Mike’s, if you’ve been floating around the crafty world a while)
