my new addiction ~ letterpress love
There’s something about the look of letterpress. So rich and tactile and just delightful, but one of those things that I admired from afar. Then I came across the Studio Calico letterpress class. It was reasonably priced, and included some fun stuff to get started. The class kit was reasonably priced. I didn’t have a manual die cutter, but I’d long hankered for one, and with a birthday not too far away, I put in my request. This also was going on when I wasn’t too far off giving birth to Beetle, so I had plenty of stuff to do without the distraction of a new hobby. After double checking the class was available as PDF downloads so I could work through it when I was ready, I took the plunge, and signed up.
The birthday came, along with the Big Shot die cutter and the class kit. And once I’d cleaned the studio up nicely, I pulled it all out, and got pressing.
A couple of little 3×4 cards, the 4×6 card in last weeks Project Life spread, and I also pressed some of my Jade edition cardstock cards. Man, I am in LOVE with this new little hobby of mine. I also have so many ideas bursting out of my head, so watch this space for more letterpress prettiness!
Today, it’s rainy old Friday, and the weekend promises all kinds of fun. A dolls quilt to finish, a spot of writing, and some new books to get stuck into. A dress to draft up for a friend. A fun new Twitter project. With any luck, the rain has settled in today and will stick around, and we can snuggle and read stories. Maybe some puddlejumping. Definitely a quiet couple of days with my favourite people. The best kind of weekend.
Love that camera!
Isn’t it cute??
