Advent Blogalong :: mini shop update {day one}

Every year, the lovely Car hosts an Advent blog-every-day challenge, and I’ve decided this year to give it a crack. While I’m not convinced I will manage EVERY day, I do hope to blog at least three times a week, and anything more is a bonus. It’s my personal penance for dropping the ball.

So. Here we are. Day one. What can you expect? There will be weekly December Daily updates. There will be teachers gifts. There will be book reviews, yes plural, because in the craziness that was November, I completely missed that review. There will be at least one video tutorial. Some WIP busting, some swaps, some new years plans. As for the rest, we’ll play it by ear and see what happens.

christmas deadlines

Today I wanted to share a little shop update, for one, because I haven’t done a shop post in a while, and two, because a little hiccup with the checkout process was brought to my attention. So if you have tried to place an order and had trouble, the problem should now be fixed, so pop on over. The other reason I wanted to share was today is the first cut-off date for Christmas deliveries. If you were after letterpress Christmas cards or custom books, today is the last day to order a specific design. Today is also the last day for international orders to ensure they get to you in time!

papers overview

Also new in the Etsy shop is my digital December Daily kit. This was super fun to put together, and really, if it’s worth doing it’s worth overcrafting, right? The kit includes the 15 papers above, and 8 3×4″ filler cards, and for this week I’m also including 14 digital stamps (7 designs in both black & white). I’ve already printed mine (pro tip – splurge on some thick paper. I use 160gsm, so double thickness, paper that I bought at my local office supply shop. It stops the paper going waving from too much ink, and its also a lovely thickness to work with), and am starting to assemble my album. I am still undecided HOW I’m going to do the photos. Do I use my good camera? My Instax? Film? Film is kind of a touchy subject since I have half a used roll in the camera, which happens to be the 6 or so days I managed of December Daily last year. So maybe I should use that and actually get them printed. Plus I have a metric crap-ton of film in the fridge. But waiting for prints… ARGH. All these decisions!

PS – if you still have trouble with the shop, can you please let me know?
