Back on deck for 2016
Oh wow you guys. More than two months since I’ve blogged? I have to say, the start of this year has been CRAZY. Two months down and I feel like I’m finally catching my breath. I have managed some crafting, and a lot of that was over the holidays with the children.
Like these cards. Before Christmas I ordered a couple of mystery kits from Studio Calico, including one of the now-defunct card kits. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about the kit – some things I liked, but others (like the stamp set) where just Not My Style. On the positive side, said stamp set with it’s cutesy cartoony designs did inspire to invite the smalls into the studio to try and help me kill the kit.
I managed to get four cards, plus three for Bear and one for Butterfly. Which isn’t a bad haul, really, from a kit that cost my $6US
Butterfly’s card was written in and sealed and ready to post before I had a chance to photograph it, but it was a 5 year old’s marvel of layers and layer and layers of paper and mists and flair and stamps and paper.
My share have disappeared into my new card tin (more on that in a later post), and Bear’s have been stashed on his desk ready to write to his little friends. I quite enjoyed just sitting down and knocking out a few handmade cards so I have some on hand ready to go, even if my card making skills are quite rusty! I’m hoping to make time to sit down and do a little batch once a month or so, but we will see. I might try to keep up with the blog a little bit first, hey?
