…december daily travellers notebook…

December Daily, the theory goes, is an every day memory keeping project, each day in December. As good as the theory is, I have both 2015 AND 2016 sitting in my “to finish” pile – whoops!! Once I finished my selfie minibook, I started working on my 2016 December Daily as part of my 31 minutes project. I am verging in on getting it finished, and wanted to share my progress with you, and my thoughts on the TN as a memory keeping options

The papers I used in this book are digital papers I designed myself and then printed at home on my HP Photosmart 6520 printer, using 120gsm paper. Photos were mostly printed at home on my Canon Selphy 1200 printer.

The Selphy was a gift for my birthday last year, and I love it, both for the quality of the print and the convenience of having it right there when I need it. My only minor quibble is it seems to print cool, so I need to work on remembering to edit on the warmer side for prints I want to use my Selphy for.

This insert is the 4.25 x 8″ personal size, and I made it myself using, again, the 120gsm paper and some Studio Calico patterned paper I had on hand, and hand stitched together with perle cotton. I will confess as much as I love the size, it is taking me a bit to get used to using it for scrapbooking, as I tend to favour landscape photos, and even when I print a 2up per print, that still leaves my print at 4″ wide and almost taking up the whole page width. But I think with both a change in shooting habits, and a tweak or two to my scrapping style, I could really get on board with the TN trend.

Still left to go, is the last 6 photos I have printed, and then go back through my phone and see if I can find phone happy snaps to fill in the blanks where I missed photos on my proper camera. I’m hoping to have this album tidied up and filed away within the week, to clear the headspace to finish my 2017 paper designs and start building my embellishment kit ready to savour the silly season of 2017!

I am still undecided on my format for 2017. I’m contemplating even going back to a mini-book type set up. With a month instil Advent begins, I really should decide soon!
