…#my FINISHED selfiescrapbook

Oh man, I am so excited! This little project I started in early 2015. I worked on it in October 2015 for the 31 minutes challenge. Then, half finished, I tucked it away, until this week…and today? TODAY I FINISHED!

I am thrilled with how it turned out. It’s a tiny 4″ book that I made myself (and want to make 500 more), and the #myselfiescrapbook project took exactly one third. At this point, my plan is to complete a “week in the life” photo project in the next couple of months, and use that for the next third, then another in 2019, so I have three separate selfie projects to record three different times in my life.

I’m really not one to jump in front of the camera, so this project was well out of my comfort zone, but man am I glad I did it. It is super fun to see what my life was like two years ago. We mums are good at that – making sure everyone and everything gets documented…except us. I need to get better at it – I’m sure when I’m old and grey these photos will get a flick through while I marvel at how young I was once. Hopefully if I make it a biannual thing, I will get more comfortable…

I also thought it would be fun to do a video to show you the inside!

{related – if you can recommend an external mic for a DSLR and a good over head tripod, let me know in the comments!}

The photos were taken mainly on my iPhone 4S, with a few on my D700, and then printed as a contact sheet at home on my HP 8200 (which has since died). The mini book is faux leather, by me, with scrumptious thick 120gsm paper. The patterned papers are from an old Lime Tart kit, and are the “Collectable” range by My Minds Eye. I also used Studio Calico stamps, stampin’ up dies, dylusions pains and stains to add a mixed media vibe, and (recent) journaling was done with a Micron felt tip pen, size 02. If you have any specific questions, give me a holler!
