31 minutes update two :: blogtober day 21

Three weeks into this project, and I’m loving the way it’s making me pay attention to my home and how I move through this space as I go about my days. Some days are easier than others – something photogenic or interesting will catch my eye, and I can quickly snap a photo. Others, like today, are harder. It’s sheet changing day, so every bedroom is pulled apart and messy. I’ve had a couple of visitors drop by, pushing my daily routine back, and school is still in progress, pushing me back further. My volunteer community roles are needing a bit of attention today, and I’ve been doing some admin for Eldest’s uni and Boy2’s year twelve program.

And that’s ok. In these daily photo projects I find myself pushing to get the photo done early, so I can be sure it’s done. My very first 365, I would need to upload to Flickr, and also to my blog, but the blog had to be done first so I could link it on Flickr to drive traffic, and all of the above generally occurred during nap time.

But that’s not how we live; our lives exist in this house 24/7, and only photographing morning scenes misses so much of what I’m trying to capture. I did miss yesterday’s photo, as the idea I had was of a specific time, and I forgot to factor in a meeting I had that ran over that time. But I can get it tonight and that’s ok.

Four of my favourites from the last ten days:

//my morning coffee spot – technically my husband’s end of the lounge but of a weekday morning it’s my preferred spot for a cuppa, my NYT games routine, and a chapter of my book before I start the day

// Madam Scarlett believes open wardrobes full of clean clothes are provided for her personal napping pleasure

// cheeky Sunday bevvies – cocktails for the grown ups and smoothies for the kiddos.

// the perils of being a rumpus room millenial raising living room alphas is Lego explosions masquerading as art installations

Ten days to go! With the obvious options ticked off, I’m looking forward to the creative challenge of finding the lesser noticed corners of my home to document.
