on the bookshelf :: November {blogmas day two}

After a bumper reading month in October, November had big shoes to fill…and failed spectacularly! From twenty books in a month, down to nine. It’s quite a drop, but eight is still two a week which is a solid rate, right? At the end of November, my total for the year was 84, leaving 16 to get to my goal of 100 for the year…considering I read 10 in a week over last christmas, I think I am still in with a chance!

My November reads:

The Ledge – Christian White // the kiddos gave me this for my birthday and I finished it inside of twenty four hours. Loved it so much I made Car read it too

Average At Best – Astrid Jorgensen // an interesting look into the magic that created Pub Choir. It took me a bit to get into, but once I got hooked, it was a fun read.

Any Trope But You – Victoria Lavine // a cute little romance, some silliness but I could look past it as it was a fun read.

Fake It Till You Make It – Laura Carter // a fake-dating romance, it was light and fluffy and easy to run through over a weekend

The Kill Clause – Lisa Unger // an Amazon First freebie short, and like most of these books, the pacing didn’t work for me. It was ok for a quick read to add another book to my tally.

Ten Thousand Light Years From Okay – Tracy Dobmeier // last month’s bookclub book, it was quite enjoyable…aside from the ending. Didn’t love that part.

Happily Never After – Phoebe MacLeod // a bit of a fun read, another easy, predictable romance, but I did enjoy this one

Once Upon a Christmas Eve & Most Eligible Scrooge – Elodie Now // nice easy kick off to the christmas reading season, but I didn’t love them, everything was just tooooo ridiculous and forced in places.

I am two books in already for December, so I’m going some of the way to redeeming my slack November – but will it be enough to make the magic century? Wish me luck! I’m on the hunt for some more christmas novels, so be sure to drop your favourite in the comments below.
