spring dolls quilt

Oh man I am ever so late in blogging this! The lovely AJ organised a dolls quilt swap last year, with a random draw recipient after all quilts were received and and open theme of “spring” I pulled my inspiration from Pinterest, and using this pattern (pinned here) that I purchased as a starting point, I extended the outside and added in this pattern (a free download – pinned here). A bit of scanning, and I left my foundations to print as I had a lovely time pulling a rainbow of fabrics from my stash and scrap piles.

The of course, life happened (like a baby), and I fell behind. Way behind. This was rushed off at the very last minute (read – a week late), and I am very thankful for a patient swap host. It was one of those moments where many deadlines collided and I failed miserably at meeting a lot of them! But it all worked out in the end, although, once again, I didn’t even manage a photo, so I am very thankful to Kylie, who ended up with my quilt, for providing me with one.

I had intended the quilting to look like a gentle summer breeze, but the scale I had to shrink it to, to fit around all those little points, meant it wasn’t as soft and gentle as it was in my head! But overall I was happy with this little quilt.

Another day, another list of stuff to do. Monday played nicely and I got a good chunk of my current book read, some Fimo beads made and a couple of little RAKs bundled up ready to post. Which makes my first stop today the post office. I have big plans for how I want to spend some stolen crafty time with the girl, otherwise everything crafty is on hold until tonight when I can sit and stitch. The March block of my cross-stitch is coming along nicely, I’m really loving this sampler. But before all that, I have plenty of must-dos to keep me out of trouble. Bring on Wednesday and a home day. Have a fabulous Tuesday!

totallypinspiredsmallThis is project number nine and ten (of fourteen required to date) in my “totally pinspired” challenge to turn my pins into projects. We are aiming to complete a minimum of two pins a month. For all my Totally Pinspired projects, click here. You can find my Pinterest boards here, and my completed pins board here. If you’ve been totally pinspired as well, I’d love to see what you’ve been making!
