A month in, and I am obsessed with this project. The first couple of pages were hard, until I found my groove – I’d gotten locked into the idea that I needed to burn through my kit first, but once I left go of that idea, and got the filler cards working for me and my style, rather than me […]
I’ve always loved mini books. Even in my project life days, I still loved to pull out an event or a theme, and create a mini book about just that one topic. Holidays and challenges were especially good for the mini book treatment. It’s been a while since I’ve made one, and like any habit that falls away, I forgot […]
In between everything else, my poor old Project Life album is looking very neglected. And by neglected I mean I’m still working on 2015 🙈 and completely skipped 2016… But I still love the concept and the process, so I have picked it back up for the latter half of 2017, as our main record for homeschool. Every weekend I […]
Oh man, I am so excited! This little project I started in early 2015. I worked on it in October 2015 for the 31 minutes challenge. Then, half finished, I tucked it away, until this week…and today? TODAY I FINISHED! I am thrilled with how it turned out. It’s a tiny 4″ book that I made myself (and want to […]
Just a quick post today to share some of my December Daily album pages, because life is kicking my butt and not leaving much time for proper blogging. Even so, one week in and I am managing to keep up to date, which I really happy with, even if some pages are just the papers and no embellishments. I’ll […]
I’ve changed up a bit how I do Project Life this year. Last year I would often find myself struggling to cut down the number of photos from a week enough to fit one spread, or alternately (and much more rarely!) trying to find enough to fill a spread. While my weekly method was good at keeping me up to […]
I first saw the idea via the Studio Calico newsletter, with the launch of their December Daily kit (and we all know I’m a sucker for a good kit). A bit of a google took me to Ali Edwards’ site, and gave me some food for thought. I really liked the idea of slowing down, taking the time to stop […]
I’m not showing a full spread this week – it’s nothing too exciting, mainly photos, with only the title card and this letterpressed cardstock card, and quite a few of the photos would need obscuring for various reasons, and so I have just a snippet today, to show off my pretty letterpress journalling card, and these cool instagram photo templates […]
Another week down! I had to blank out a couple of photos this week as they were related to a school event and thus had a) children in identifiable uniforms and b) other people’s children in them, and I couldn’t blur them in a nice way, so I went with colour-coded blockout. This week was FUN to do – not […]
A couple of weeks back, I wrote about picking photos for Project Life, and printing as 4×6″ vs 3×4″, and spoke a bit about options for the 3×4″ pockets: “If you don’t have Photoshop to do the collage for the smaller photos, you could either focus on a few large photos and use the 3×4 cards as fillers, or, as […]
