letterpress notecards {Blogtoberfest Day 6}
Ever since I started letterpressing, I’ve dreamed of making my own plates. With the Beetle’s birthday as good an excuse as any, I finally got myself organised, and designed some hand-drawn elements I would use regularly in cards and Project Life, and digitised them in Illustrator. I also thought some letterpress notecards would be a bit of fun for sending out with snail mail, and as I played with calligraphy options, I came across a fabulous hand-drawn font on Etsy that made the perfect pairing with the calligraphy. Everything digitized and sent off to print, I anxiously awaited the arrival of my plates.
Then, finally, they were here and I got busy. When the first cards came off the press, I honestly gasped out loud, I was that thrilled with the end result.
I am so so happy with these. So much so that they are available to purchase either in sets or individually in my Etsy shop, and I have more printing planned for this week, as well as designs underway for my Christmas cards, as much as I would like to ignore the fact that Christmas is coming up far far too quickly! Also on the agenda this week is printing up samples with some of my other custom plates that I ordered extras of, that will also be listed in the shop, and getting myself some Project Life cards printed up to use as I continue to play catch up this week.
Oh bleeping he k I promised to buy some of these… Actually I will, I will – remind me next week ‘kay?
No stress, chicken, I’m not fazed. You know where I am when you’re ready…if not there’s always camp gifties 😉 new designs coming this week too, btw
