The Aussie WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday knitting

A month or so back, a little offer popped up in my Facebook feed.Get $10 off any order over $25 at Suzy Hausfrau. I’m pretty sure the speed with which I hit “get offer” would have broken land speed records. Then of course, the problem was what to get. I fell down the rabbit hole of pretty yarn, and my cart was at a ridiculous level (especially for unplanned-for yarn), and so I cleared it and then asked on Facebook, what would everyone buy. Bee offered up the unusual suggestion of camel yarn – it looked interesting to try, and at $22 for 50g, it was something I wasn’t likely to buy on my own without a voucher, which made it the prefect choice (along with some very cute stitch markers to get me over $25). And yeah. It’s pretty awesome. Just this last week, I’ve cast on ready to make myself some boot cuffs. It was my first time trying the long-tail cast-on method, and I must confess, I’m a convert. Once I got the hang of it, it was much easier than conventional cast-on. My next move is to master magic-loop knitting on my circular needles – can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial? Or maybe I should suck it up and learn DPNs. Once I work that bit out (my knitting in the round experience to date has fit on the circulars, so this is new territory for me) I have a pattern in mind, and hopefully they should knit up quite quickly.

Have you been creating something this week? Link up with your WIP posts (please link the actual post, not your main blog page) in whatever creative form you like, from 9am AEST Wednesday to 12 midnight AWST the same day. Help spread some encouragement by popping around one or two others and leaving a comment.  Easy as that!

{THE FINE PRINT – Please note, this is a WIP linky. Please only link up posts from the past week about a creative work in progress. For finished projects and tutorials, why not head over to the And Sew We Craft linky party? Link backs are appreciated but not required.}
